So here's my week in review:
MONDAY
Nick magically does this without trying all the time. He makes perfect question marks with his beauty products.
After lunch i did the laundry because Nick needed his pants washed. I went back to Capital Hill, to Lather Daddy, because i enjoyed it so much last time. Katie was working again, she recognized me and we chatted a bit while we both did laundry, and mostly other peoples! Poe and i had a nice little reunion of me petting his head and him licking my hand. Katie and i talked about whatever and she offered me some food, which was super sweet. There was a lady whose name a can't remember that had a three legged dog name Keviah, which is Hebrew for Princess, and she was just the sweetest most loving and happiest little boxer ever. I sat and talked to the owner for a good half hour while she folder her laundry and Keviah sat next to me and let me pet her and rub her belly the whole time. She had tried to raise Keviah in the city but the dog was a boxer so it had too much energy so she let it stay with her dad on his farm for a good amount of time. She told me about the dog helping her dad on the farm. He owns a good amount of cattle, and when the cattle have babies, they try to hide them. Keviah would run out in the fields and find the calves and then fetch the dad and show him where the calves were (that's where even i go "AWWWWWW" ). The neighbor on the farm had a dog as well and it had previously attacked Keviah two other times. A few months ago, Keviah came home with a bite on her leg. This time they didn't have proof that it was the neighbors dog but it was the only thing known to have bit her. The wound got infected and even with antibiotics it didn't get better. Finally the vets had to amputate it. Since then she has been living with her owner in the city. It's been hard because she lives on the third floor of a building with no elevator so she can only make it up and down the stairs so many times before it is to painful on her knees. She was such a sweet dog and her owner was such a sweet lady, i really hope the best for them and that they can move into a place with an elevator or on the first floor like they are trying to do now.
She doesn't like pictures
But i took some anyways
She is such a cutie i can't get over it
After laundry i kind of just did nothing. I walked down to the market and took some pictures of the produce for postcards, and found a catholic church, which my mom asked me if i find one to take pictures of it for her so i did.
Here
You
Go
Ma
Just for you
I just went home and waited for Nick to get back after that. We ate dinner, watched some adventure time and called it a night.
TUESDAY:
Tuesday i spent the entire day in the hotel room skyping with my sister. It was really great to see her and talk to her. I miss her a lot. We ended up watching youtube videos together about about animals doing funny things, which was fun. I showed her this video Vice posted about the rabbit hopping competition, among many others.
Watch it if you get a chance! It's super cute and kind of amazing.
WEDNESDAY:
Wednesday i slept in, again, and went to Victrola, again. I planned out visiting my friend Josh in Portland, which was exciting and then when Nick said he was on his way home i just walked back to the hotel. We had dinner, watched adventure time, you know, the routine.
On my way for coffee
I had seen this a few times. One of my favorite stickers in the area.
Ahhhhh, the cappuccino. It's just so freaking good.
THURSDAY:
Thursday Nick left for work early to do some business thing. He was going to be gone till the next afternoon, so i once again spelt in, but after i got up, i felt inclined to go outside and play guitar. So i did. I walked down to the Seattle Center and found a quite area with little pedestrian traffic, and played some songs i wrote. I was playing for a bit when i noticed i had a fan. He complimented me on my singing and i thanked him and started up a conversation with him. His name is Long Gach, and he was having a really weird few days. We talked about life and our generation and how we wish society was different. He was a really nice, down to earth kid. He told me about the homeless in Seattle. He talked about how insincere some of the rich people can be, how it disgusts him that they can just ignore the homeless starving people as they walk about their day. He said he talked to a homeless guy recently, he was hungry, he said he hadn't eaten in five days. Long's sister stood outside and watched and waited next to the homeless guy with her friend while Long went to buy the guy some food. When he came back outside the guy had just vanished. His sister didn't even seem him leave. He told me he thought "Was it a test?" "Maybe he was a godsend", he had wondered. He ended up giving the food to some other homeless people, and that he didn't really care that the guy had left because just giving food to hungry people, just helping people, made him feel wonderful. He put his hand on his heart as he said how much happiness it gave him. I was happy to have met him.
Before he had told me that story, he had accidentally stood up with his phone on his lap and it hit the concrete steps facedown. He gingerly picked it up hoping it wasn't cracked. "I got this yesterday" he told me. "I really hope it's okay". It was fine. He started telling me how the past few days have just been really shitty for him. His sister got her phone stolen two days ago. And yesterday, some guy tried to stab him in the heart. "I almost died" he said. I told him i was really happy he didn't, that he seems like a really amazing person, and that i will be sending him lot and lot of good vibes over the next few days. His sister called him a bit later and he realized it was 3:30 "I should go", he said, he had to catch a bus. I had asked to take his picture and before he left he took mine. It is always a really great feeling when you can meet someone with such a genuine heart.
Long Gach
After Long left i kept playing guitar for a few more hours till it got cold, and i headed back to the hotel. I made a grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup for dinner. It was really yummy. I watched Dead Man because ever since i've arrived in Seattle, being in the Northwest just makes me think of the end of that movie. I watercolored a bit and texted Nick. I went to bed pretty late, around one, and couldn't really sleep. At four i was wide awake, i looked out the window and realized it was raining. I opened the sliding door and heard jazz playing somewhere on the street. I left the door open for a while, laid in the soft warm bed and listened to the rain, the big trucks driving through the wet streets and the soft jazz floating in the air as the curtain swayed in the light of the city. It calmed me down and i closed the door and slept really well after that.
So, from where i was sitting for all those hours playing guitar, this is what i was looking at. The acoustics were pretty okay.
What i saw looking behind me while playing guitar. I was at the bottom of this set of stairs. The International Fountain was to the left of all of this.
FRIDAY:
It was rainy and cloudy out, so i stayed inside all day. It seemed to cold outside. I spent the day watercoloring and playing guitar till Nick got home. We ate dinner with his brother and went to his brother's hotel room to watch Jason X and drink shitty vodka. I accidentally spilled Ginger Ale on the floor and then we went to bed.
Very nice, Britanny. I really liked the bunny video. It made me laugh. The photos of the church were lovely. I thank you for that. Do you know the name of the church? I bet the acoustics were pretty good in the place where you played because of the concrete. As for the salmon, yeah, $9 is expensive. Your comment about spending all that money at the food truck cracked me up. And feeding the homeless is really great. I bet if you went to that church, they have a night once a week to feed the homeless. God is blessing you and keeping you.
